Lake Powell

In July, Kaden and I went to Lake Powell with my sister's family and a large group of our friends.  We were there for 10 days.  Yes, that is a long time to be at Lake Powell in July, but we had a blast.  It was SO HOT.  The temperature gauge on the truck one day read 116!!!  Everyone stayed in trailers and they were all arranged to block off our own little part of the beach.  Over the weekend (Friday to Monday) there were over 60 people, counting kids.  It was so much fun and there were lots of little kids for Kaden to play with.

The biggest damper of the trip happened the day before we left.  Kaden got sick from swallowing the lake water.  Vomiting+diarrhea+camping=fun. We were over it at that point and decided to leave early (Friday instead of Sunday).  Tarah rode with me and Kaden, and we followed the Mesker's home.  The Mesker's ended up having a bad tire on their trailer and had to get new tires on the way.  We didn't get home until 2:00am, but it was still worth leaving early.

Here are pictures of the highlights of our trip.

Kaden and Annika playing in the water.  The water was quite shallow and they could touch with their head above water for yards.  We eventually had them stop wearing their life jackets because they were getting big rashes from them.  People asked a lot, "Does Kaden have something in his eye?" because he kept closing only his right eye.  That's his way of squinting I guess - closing one eye like a pirate.

Kristin and Me.

Kaden and Annika always played nicely together.

Someone caught a tiny lizard and all the kids took turns holding it.
